The Dragonfly has always fascinated me: a small multicolored “dragon” that flies with incredible lightness, a symbol of freedom and beauty. Its ethereal elegance and discreet strength inspired me enough to choose to get one tattooed on me, bringing with me a sign that represents the fusion of delicacy and power.
In the esoteric context, the dragonfly is often seen as a symbol of profound transformation and spiritual awakening. Its ability to fly nimbly above the water and reflect light symbolizes mental clarity and superior vision, inviting the individual to overcome illusions and access a deeper truth. Its short life and metamorphosis from larva to adult are metaphors for change and rebirth, suggesting that each stage of life brings with it new opportunities for growth and renewal. The dragonfly also represents introspection, a call to look beyond external appearances and explore one’s inner self to discover the true purpose of existence. In many esoteric traditions, this insect is considered a messenger between the material and spiritual worlds, facilitating the passage between different dimensions of consciousness.
The mosaic was made using a direct technique on a wooden door.
