On this beautiful and wonderfully variegated wood I created a Pink Protea Bud.
In the language of flowers, the Protea represents courage, strength and transformation, qualities reflected in its spectacular blooms that emerge in difficult climatic conditions. The pink color is linked to femininity, hope, love, sweetness and tenderness.
The mosaic was made using a direct technique on a wooden door.
Materials: Mixed Venetian smalti, artistic glass, artistic ceramics, brass wires, green wire, “copper pins”.
The brass wires and “copper pins”, over time, will undergo the natural oxidation process, which will give them a fascinating, unique and constantly evolving patina.
